Currently Looking For

Lost or orphaned kits. Kits are preferred to older cats. They don't have their own opinions, and can be raised to be the kind of cats the group needs.

Queens with kits. Somecat needs to take care of the kits, and a lot of cats are already needed to hunt and fight so cats with kits of their own would likely end up with that job.

Why Would A Cat Join The Group?

Kits would join the group because do they really have a choice? They can't hunt or build their own den, and the group offers protection from predators as well as food.

Young Cats who are able to take care of themselves would receive training in some advanced skills, as well a numerical protection from predators.

Single Queens with Kits would have food without having to leave their kits and other kits for them to interact with.

Other cats would probably only join for the protection of the group, or if they have a nefarious plan to take power for themselves.

Responsibilities by Rank

Kits will have no responsibilities until they are old enough to begin training, at which point they will be expected to take the responsibilities of a young cat.

Young Cats will be expected to arrange training with adult cats, as well as hunt to feed themselves. If they have done enough training and there is a fight, they will be expected to assist.

Trusted Adult Cats are expected to train young cats, provide input into decisions if necessary, fight in battles, and catch their own prey.

Most Adult Cats are expected to help train young cats, catch their own prey and fight in battles. They are also encouraged to have kits to increase numbers.

Untrustworthy Adult Cats are expected to catch food for themselves and the queens and kits, as well as fight in battles. They are also expected to do general den care, such as changing moss and patching holes.

Queens are expected to take care of and protect the kits.

Roles and Rank Changes

Kits are any cats that have not started their training.

Cats in Training are cats learning the skills they need to be a valuable part of the group and fight in battles.

Untrustworthy Adults are either newly promoted cats in training, cats with disabilities that cannot contribute as much as others, and cats deemed likely to be untrustworthy.

Adult Cats are the majority of the group. Their main focus is fighting. They can become High Ranking cats though distinction in battle, or some other skill.

Trusted Adult Cats are cats either highly skilled or considered incredibly trustworthy. They can command patrols and lead cats into battle, and may be consulted on important decisions.

Queens are cats that care for the kits. Once their kits are cats in training, unless they are the last queen left and there are still kits, they return to their original rank.

The Leader is the brain of the group. All of their orders must be obeyed, and they may punish, demote or kill any cat as they see fit.

Just a note: All "Ranks" are unofficial and are really only based on trust. Cats who are less trusted to more work to build trust, not because they have to. This isn't an official faction, but a collection of cats working for mutual protection and perhaps power (Although Bill. did say factionhood was a possibility if interest could be sustained for a long period of time!)
